How to Find TV Shows and Movies
June 2, 2020
Streaming service fragmentation means you have more options than ever to watch different shows and movies, but nothing is centralized. Different content exists across different services and trying to figure out where to find the content you want can be a guessing game.Or at least, it was until now. This week, we'll walk you through a few great options that help you locate exactly where to find any TV show or movie.
Streamer's Spotlight: How to Find Where Any TV Show or Movie is Streaming
Let's say you're like me, and you have a burning passion for sci-fi shows from the 1990s.
Sliders,
Star Trek TNG
, or
Farscape
. Or maybe your tastes are much more refined, and you like big-budget dramas that are off the air. Either way, you'll find simply loading up Netflix doesn't get you even close to all of the shows and movies you want.
A Google search also doesn't always turn up what you need. A few solutions now exist that more easily pinpoint which streaming services carry the shows and movies you want to watch, as well as how much you can expect to pay to get access to them.
Here at Flixed, we've built a powerful tool to help you locate even the most obscure content. Dubbed Flixed Finder, our tool will show you exactly what streaming services carry the content you want and the cost to access that content. You'll also get a full description of the TV show or movie, including genre breakdown and rating, as well as the option to filter by season, as many shows have different seasons of their content available on different streaming services.
Reelgood has been at it for a while, offering an easy-to-use search engine for locating TV shows and movies across popular streaming services. A quick search will reveal all the nitty-gritty details of the content you're looking for, including where to find it and how much it costs to access it. Reelgood also offers a "Streamability Score" which factors in how easy (or hard) it is to watch that content (my beloved
Sliders
gets a 61/100), and a Reelgood Score, which takes an average of the show's ratings from different sites.
JustWatch operates similarly to Flixed Finder and Reelgood, with one big exception: You can use it to view an entire streaming service catalog. That makes it easy to browse streaming service catalogs in an easier format than most streaming services currently have available on their own sites.
This service also lets you search by country, which is a good option if you're not in the US or if you happen to be traveling outside the US.
