Cord-Cutting Tip of the Week:

How to Switch Services

PlayStation Vue is on everyone's lips this week as the company announced its official closing. The service will officially stop operating in January 2020. If you're a user, where do you go? How do you find a good alternative?

1. Use the Flixed Cord-Cutters Express Tool to Find Channels

The first step to switching services is to look for the channels you frequently use. The easiest way to do that is to use the Flixed Cord-Cutter Express tool. Our tool lets you pick the channels (and features!) you want to see, and matches you to services that carry those features.

2. Understand What You'll Lose...and Gain

PlayStation Vue offered up to 5 simultaneous streams per account. If that's a feature you regularly used, you're not going to have any close alternatives, except for Hulu with Live TV combined with its Unlimited Screens add-on. As no other equivalent streaming service has been available on PlayStation devices, you'll lose the option to stream any other IPTV service through your PlayStation (at least until they open their operating system to other services).

On the bright side, PlayStation Vue had a fairly limited DVR. So if you decide to switch to any other service, with the exception of AT&T TV Now, you'll get an improved DVR option.
