There are bright days ahead for sports fans. The coronavirus shut down leagues and sporting events worldwide. Even the annual Olympics took a hit. But it appears more sports are starting to resume, with extra precautions for players and fans (when fans are allowed).This week, we explore what sports have popped up in the past few weeks, and offer some details about what sports you can anticipate in the next few weeks and into the fall.
Streamer's Spotlight: And the Winner of the Streaming Wars Is...
Sports fans: It's time to wipe away the tears of depression. Sports are coming back! You may not be able to attend in person, but you can still "show up" digitally thanks to the large number of streaming services catering to your needs.
So what sports have started returning, and what will the next few months look like?
UFC 249 Returned
Just this month, UFC 249 was finally rescheduled and broadcast worldwide to eager audiences. If you'll recall, UFC chief Dana White only canceled the events kicking and screaming. In fact, White went so far as to purchase and plan to have

Mortal Kombat
). Fortunately (or maybe, unfortunately), Fight Island never materialized, but UFC was
on May 9.
Horse Racing Never Actually Stopped
The speed, the power, the sweat. Yeah, horse sweat is sort of gross, but at least horse racing is on and ready to watch! This sport never actually stopped, which is certainly a good thing for horse racing fans. But if you've never watched horse racing and you're just hungry for something to get your competitive blood pumping, well, there it is. Several cord-cutting live TV services, like fuboTV, Sling TV, and Hulu Live TV, offer the channels you need to watch live horse racing.
NASCAR Returns
So maybe horse racing isn't your thing. Maybe engines are?
. There are no fans in the stadium, which for NASCAR is definitely an oddity, but these are certainly strange times, indeed. NASCAR fans have been able to enjoy a few races live on TV, with many more to come.
Here Comes International Soccer
The loss of team sports was perhaps the biggest pain to US sports fans, but a new hope is here. Soccer matches are coming back in various places in the world. This week, you can even watch Leverkusen vs Wolfsburg complete in a Bundesliga soccer match. Yes, it's really happening, at 12:30 PM EST. FOX Sports carries Bundesliga matches in the US.
